There is no such a thing as the "best time" for newborn photos. Though it's ideal to get in touch well before your delivery, we can always work with you make sure to capture timeless and unforgettable photos, just get in touch. The best time to schedule your session is before your little one is born. This way you can rest assured that your newborn photo shoot will occur within 2 weeks of birth, the very best time to get the sweetest photographs! Let’s make sure that we have your session on the calendar before the birth so that you don’t have to think about it once the baby is born.

When you book before baby's birth, we will tentatively book you in for 10 days after your due date, so that we can be sure that you are on my calendar. As we get closer to your due date, we will reach out to you to make sure everything is on track. Once your baby is born and you are ready to go home, all you have to do is let me know within 24/48 hours, along with baby's weight and from there we’ll schedule a definitive session date and time within the first 7-14 days of your baby’s arrival. It doesn't matter if your baby arrives before or after the expected due date, we will work with you to make it a completely hassle free experience. Once you book your newborn photo shoot session, you will receive a detailed client guide, which will answer all of your questions.

The sooner the better! Newborns tend to stay sound asleep a few days after birth and because of this we are able to gently move your little one into greast poses. After a couple of weeks, this is not as easy to do. After the 14 day mark babies begin to stretch and the poses won’t be as easy to accomplish. But don't worry, there are many poses we can do even well into the 3-4 week stage.

Absolutely! Photographing your little one surrounded by family is an incredible experience for everyone involved. You will need to book the Essential Package or above.

Your session will take between 60 minutes to 2.5 hours, depending on the type of session you book. Pausing to allow times for feeding and changing. The atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable and the pace of our session will be determined by the baby.

If I have an opening in my calendar I am happy to accommodate. We will work with you to make time. :) The industry standard for newborn photography is within 7-14 days after birth, but don't let that stop you. After that, some of the most adorable poses aren’t as easy to achieve, but I'm sure we'll still get great poses. :)

Your session will take place in my private and cozy baby photography home studio, located in Ottawa. Just bring yourself and your little bundle of joy. The studio is fully stocked with all the necessary props, toiletries, and other essentials to keep you comfortable throughout your session. I do! In my studio you will find a large supply of hats, headbands, and wraps that we can play with. All of the props and items used in the photoshoot are provided at the studio!

I want you to feel comfortable so I suggest wearing clothes that you can move freely in. I also recommend soft toned, solid colors, avoiding loud prints and patterns so that we can keep the focus on the baby. Some clients prefer a black top + jeans, others go with a light and airy look with soft and muted colours. My recommendation is to weather neutral tones like beige to help create timeless photos. The client guide has all of the information you need, along with example photos so that you can find some inspiration.

After your session we’ll discuss when you can expect your photographs to be available for viewing in your online gallery. All of the photos from your session will be uploaded to an online proof gallery for you to view. You'll choose the photos you want fully edited, and get your final photos once they're ready! It takes approximately 14 days from the day we receive your selected photos for us to complete your edits.

You will receive your proof album within 3 days of your photoshoot. Your fully edited photos will be ready within 14 days, after you've selected them.
